2006 Australian National Rally of

Mercedes-Benz Clubs in Canberra.

The following note was published in the November 2004 edition of the various Mercedes-Benz club magazines in Australia and New Zealand.

The next Australian National Rally of Mercedes‑Benz Clubs will be hosted Jointly by the Mercedes-Benz Club (NSW) Inc and the Mercedes-Benz Club of the ACT (Inc). The host clubs have decided that the rally will be in Canberra, over the Easter period Friday 14th to Monday 17th April 2006.

Accommodation for participants will be arranged at the Rydges Capital Hill Hotel, where there is covered parking for all members' cars. This hotel is near Parliament House and is graded as a '4.5 Star' facility. Registration and issue of papers for participants will be here during Easter Friday.

The Reception / Cocktail Party on Friday evening will be at Rydges Capital Hill. The Buffet Dinner on Saturday evening will be at Rydges Lakeside Hotel located between Canberra City and the northern shore of Lake Burley Griffin, and coach transport will be provided between the two venues. The Gala Dinner on Sunday evening will be at the National Gallery of Australia, on the southern shore of Lake Burley Griffin, and again coach transport will be provided to and from the Dinner.

The daylight hours of Saturday and Sunday will be dedicated to guided touring, in our cars, to enjoy features of Canberra and the Australian Capital Territory. These will include not only national icons but also other places of local interest. Touring activities will cease daily at a time which allows personal relaxation, in the hotel bar or otherwise at your discretion, prior to the evening functions.

The 2006 National Rally is being generously supported by DaimlerChrysler Australia / Pacific Pty. Ltd., for the benefit of all members who participate. This support is very much appreciated.

This is a Preliminary Notice inviting and encouraging members of Mercedes-Benz clubs throughout Australia, New Zealand and world wide to attend the Rally in April 2006. The organising committee, comprising representatives of the NSW and ACT clubs, will be working towards a Rally full of interest and for your enjoyment. Further notices will promulgate details of the Rally additional to those provided above. Details of cost packages will be provided in mid 2005 at which time postal registrations and deposits will be invited.
